Public Hearing November 17th at 6PM: There will be a public hearing scheduled for November 17th at 6pm to hear written and oral questions and comments regarding water & sewer rates increases. The meeting is open to the public and we will also be live streaming to our facebook page. We will try to asnwer any questions posted to our facebook page during this time but due to a slight delay in broadcasting to facebook it may take a few minutes for us to receive your questions. 


Used equipment for sale


The Town of Howland recently updated their fleet of snow plow units and is selling by public bid a 2004 Sterling SL8500 single axel plow truck. The odometer isn’t operational but reads 188,000 miles. Recently the unit has been utilized as a spare plow truck for three years. The unit comes with an eleven foot reversible American poly plow and 9’ wing. The unit can be viewed at the Howland Public Works on Davis Street. The deadline for receipt of any bids is Friday, November 12, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Town Office located at 8 Main Street. Any bids received after this deadline shall not be considered. The bids will be opened at the regular Board of Selectpersons’ meeting on the evening of the November 15th at 6:00 p.m. All bidders are welcome to attend. Bidders may hand deliver or mail their bids, but the envelope must clearly be marked “Plow Truck Bid”.  The Town will also receive, but cannot guarantee the confidentiality of faxed bids.  Bidders will be formally notified of the results and award of the bid upon Town Selectmen action. The Howland Board of Selectpersons reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities that may arise.
