FARMER MARKET TO OPEN THIS SUNDAY MAY 2ND

May 2, [email protected]:00 am-2:00 pm

Five years!  The Farmers Market in town is 5 years old this season.  Opening day is this Sunday, May 2nd at the ball fields, across from the old Tannery site.  Initial forecasts predict great weather this weekend.  The original two farms will be there along with more signed up for attending later in the season.  Even though it is early, Foxgreen Farm, right here in Howland is expected to be picking lettuce, radishes, and scallions for the market.  They will also be presenting their wild array of vegetable and flower plants for the spring gardeners in the area.  Passadumkeag’s In the Village Farm and Garden will be there for their 5th year as well.  Expect a choice of pasture raised meats, bakery items, and more surprises this Sunday!

Visit the Market and the Old Tannery Park while you are in the area.  Both the daffodils at the park and the local businesses showcasing their hard work is a great Sunday drive whether you are coming from around the corner or from around the State.
