Special Town Meeting

There will be a special town meeting on December 4, 2023 at 6pm at the town office located at 10 Bridge Road in Howland. The purpose of this meeting will be to see if the residents approve/not approve the use of up to $24,000 in our American Rescue Plan Act. (ARPA) funds to hire Eastern Maine Development Corp to update our comprehensive plan. Our current plan was finalized in August 2004 and is currently outdated. EMDC will be working with a committee of residents in gathering information for the new plan before a draft plan will be presented for the public to comment. We expect this project to take just about a year to complete before the residents will be asked to review and approve the final plan. So please try to make the special town meeting on December 4, 2023.
