Town Roads/Shared ATV trails: We want to remind everyone that today marks the opening of the public roads for ATV use here in Howland. According to club news the ATV trails on private property don’t open until May 18th. Please remember to obey all traffic laws including the speed limit for ATV’s. Remember please respect landowners property because without the use of their land there would be no ATV trails. RIDE SAFE RIDE SMART

The Town of Howland, located in Penobscot County, is located at the convergence of the Penobscot and Piscataquis Rivers.

The town is on the west bank of the Penobscot River at the confluence with the Piscataquis River. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 35.62 square miles (92.26 km2), of which, 34.92 square miles (90.44 km2) of it is land and 0.70 square miles (1.81 km2) is water.
